As part of its 850th anniversary, the Swiss town of Reinach BL commissioned an energetic and lively work for the municipal wind band, the MG Konkordia Reinach, conducted by maestro Miguel Etchegoncelay.

The work follows the form of a miniature overture, inhabited by an almost regular pulsation from the beginning to the end of the work. The first part, of a resolutely festive and rhythmic character, contrasts with a freer and calmer central section. This precedes a gradual return to the solemn and jubilant impulses of the beginning of the work. The themes and different motifs of the piece are all derived rhythmically or harmonically from the initial cell of the piece.
