The first part, majestic and solemn in character, contrasts with a more cheerful Trio. This march was designed in such a way that all the registers of the ensemble are highlighted. It is suitable for performance in parade, but also as a concert march: optional parts such as timpani have been added.

The march is dedicated to the Harmonie Municipale de Martigny and their conductor Dany Rossier, who offered the first performance during their concert on December 3, 2023.
